This site is situated amongst an eclectic mix of dwellings, in close proximity to the Freshwater Headland. As such, the design responds to its suburban context whilst also invoking a cool coastal vibe. The two storey form is wrapped in an operable veil of light screening – echoing the bubbles and foam of the waves. It provides for solar protection and privacy as well as introducing a visually interesting form to the streetscape. The home is designed to optimize sustainability initiatives, including a private vege garden on the roof terrace.
