Sirius is perched on the rocky escarpment to the southwest of Sugarloaf Creek – a dense green corridor that links Chatswood to Sydney Harbour.

The architecture is modernist in its aesthetic with simple clean lines and raw materials. The placement of the built form is a sensitive response to the site in that we not only considered minimal disturbance of the escarpment, but we also ensured the built form was secondary to the surrounding landscape whilst fully appreciating the breath taking views from every space. Japanese influence was also injected into the design with a tatami room for yoga, crafted timber detailing and a sheltered outdoor Japanese soaking tub.

The client wanted a home that could accommodate a swell of people as family and friends come together often. At the same time we ensured there was an ability to connect and disconnect zones throughout the home depending on the housed dynamic.
