Commonwealth pde

3 residential apartments

Manly Cove, NSW

Prior construction

Budget $3.5m

The building comprises three luxury apartments with basement car parking at the harbour front in Manly. Platform Architects have continued to develop the existing DA approval, seeing the project through to the next stages.

The aim of the project is to add tactility, texture and greenery to the built form.  Planter boxes with cascading planting are introduced to the balconies to soften the edges of the building and to add visual interest. This green border also adds a degree of privacy whilst providing a pleasant outlook. Metal blades are incorporated into the design to further address privacy and overlooking.

The intention is a building that speaks not only to the human eye, but through touch and smell as well.
